Conference

Welcome to the 99th meeting of the EURO Working Group in Multi Criteria Decision Aiding (EWG-MCDA).

The meeting is scheduled for April 10th to 12th, 2025 in Venice and is organized by the Department of Economics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy. The event will be held at the historic Ca’ Foscari building, a late-Gothic Venetian structure constructed in 1453 under the commission of Doge Francesco Foscari.

The main theme of the meeting is "Multicriteria Decision Aiding in Portfolio Selection”. Numerous multicriteria decision-aiding methods have been developed in portfolio selection, and this theme aims to encourage debate on this specific topic.

We welcome all contributions on the theory, methodology, and applications of multi-criteria decision aiding, particularly those related to the meeting's theme.

Abstract submissions and registration

Submissions

We welcome the submission of abstracts focusing on Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding in Portfolio Selection. The abstract can contain new methodological approaches, real-world case studies, and applications. Works related to the meeting topic are encouraged but not restricted. There are two types of submission available:

  1. regular presentation: abstracts that will be included in the programme and presented during the conference in a 20 minutes slot;
  2. discussion paper: abstracts that will be included in the programme but will not be presented by the authors during the conference in a regular talk.

Regarding the first type of submission, the abstract must be written following the attached template.

Registration

The meeting does not have an attendance fee; however, participants are responsible for covering their own travel expenses, accommodation, and social event costs.

To participate in EWG-MCDA2025 and present an abstract, registration is mandatory.

The conference will occur in Aula Baratto, in the historic Ca’ Foscari building, Dorsoduro 3246 Venice.

Arrival at "Marco Polo" airport in Venice (VCE)

From the airport you can reach Mestre or Venice (Piazzale Roma) by land (on a bus or taxi) or take the water route to Venice (Alilaguna boat or water taxi).

Getting to Venice by train

The Venice railway station is “Venezia Santa Lucia”. The main train companies in Italy are Trenitalia and Italo. You can purchase the tickets at the train station or online, directly from the relevant websites.
